  23. handgun ammo, except .22 caliber.  This was a nuisance and was
  24. cancelled by the 1986 FOPA.

  26. Before 1986 I would take a .45 rifle with me when buying .45ACP
  27. ammo and the store clerk wouldn't even bother me about ID.  Since
  28. 1986 I haven't been bothered at all.

  30. Even though the 1986 act did apparently outlaw private acquisition
  31. of machine guns, it did provide a number of benefits to us all.
  32. Sometimes things do change for the better :-).
