  23.  The Norinco M14 clones are garbage. The parts are soft, tolerences are lousy
  24. and the threading is sized metric. This means that if anything ever breaks, 
  25. you can't use a genuine GI replacement part. You'll have to find someone who 
  26. stocks the Chinese parts. (Nessard).

  28.  When the "genuine US Mil spec" clone kits appeared on the market myself and 
  29. another good friend who is also a match armourer/gunsmith each bought a kit 
  30. just to see if the fantastically low price was worth it. To make a long story 
  31. short it wasn't. The worst part was trying to get the barrel to headspace. 
  32. 4 different US made aftermarket receivers were tried and headspace was unsafe 
  33. in all of them.

  35.  The "bannana bill" stuff aside, Mini-14 is ok I guess if you just gotta have 
  36. something that shoots 223 and aren't concerned about losing most of your 
  37. brass. The "raunch rifle" throws the empties about 50 feet.. The biggest 
  38. drawback to the Mini-14 is its woefully inadequate accuracy.

  40.  The SKS?? Go for it... Definitely one of the best buys on the market. Its 
  41. accurate enough for hunting, fires a round that's in the 30-30 power range, 
  42. its a fun plinker, surplus ammo is as cheap as dirt, federal loads an 
  43. excellent soft point hunting load, the rifle is like a Timex,,, it takes a 
  44. licking and keeps on ticking.

  46.  Out of the 3 you listed the SKS would be my choice.
