- A thought: You might just mound up the soil, as in the French-intensive
- and Chinese techniques. The mound can be about 4-5 feet wide. You get the
- benefits of raised beds without the cost of materials. Actually, the
- earthen beds may be better, since critters like snails and slugs may hide
- in the space between your material and the bed.
