- There's one section on the notes on teamwork that I didn't emphasize
- enough. When you've got the enemy team down to an LPS (or near to
- that) involving their home or core world(s), there are two phases to
- the offense. In the first phase you are trying to get kills, pick up
- armies, and refuel. But once any of you have succeeded in that, the
- whole team is in phase two, where the goal is to get those armies
- delivered to the enemy planet(s). During phase two, killing any enemy
- and enabling him to reappear nearer the target planet is a big mistake.
- Doing so consistently is treachery. Understand?
-
- E.g. if I'm going in to try to drop armies on the last planet Tauri,
- and you kill a Romulan ship near Indi, you are a traitor, plain and
- simple.
-
- It's astonishing to me, on a team which is strong enough to get the
- enemy down to an LPS, how many of my teammates usually turn out to be
- traitors in this way. Usually around 50%. They mean well, mind you,
- but they are actively hurting the cause just the same.
-
- Starbases are almost always traitors in these situations. A starbase
- with two escorts trying to keep it alive, that constitutes three
- traitors. (On the other hand a SB can be very useful in phase one).
-
- One hint to avoid being a traitor, in situations where you can't make
- it to the target planet: when the carrier goes in, cloak! That way
- you'll be unlikely to kill anybody, you have some chance of survival
- yourself, and you might help to confuse the enemy. Simply dodging
- and pressoring enemies works too.
-
- I'm going to stop calling my teammates traitors during games, because
- they really don't respond well, but I'll make a post like this every
- week if I have to, to get this point across.

- P.S. The same concept applies in many other non-LPS situations, but
- is often complicated by other considerations.
