  16. Use the newscores program in the tools directory.
  17. % newscores -u

  19. This program takes input of the form generated by the 'scores A'
  20.  command.  This allows you to create an ascii form of the database
  21.  with 'scores A > scoredb', then you can edit it as needed, then you
  22.  can issue a 'newscores < scoredb' command to restore the database.
  23. Note:  The form of the output from the 'scores A' command is very
  24.  specific.  Be sure that the input stream matches it very accurately
  25.  
  26. And also, just to be safe, make sure the daemon is NOT up when using
  27. newscores.

  33. Before Terence officially 'closed' bronco, he found out something
  34. about the database being corrupted by some weird control chars in players'
  35. keymaps. Those players were assumed to be users of the latest Pigborg.
  36. You need to find a good editor to get rid of those control chars, I guess.
  37. (that is, before you run newscores to generate .players and .global)
  38. I had to do that once but since then I never touched the database at all.
