-
- yeah, but the DD accelerates and decelerates faster, and has a
- better turning rate. which is great when you're cloaked and running
- for a planet with a CA hot on your heels and you decide to go for
- another planet instead. decelerate quickly, turn, accelerate to
- maxwarp toward new target. try that in AS. it's a lot harder
- to get the jump on the defenders. good point about the SC, but they don't
- have a whole lot of fuel (as somebody pointed out, scouts don't
- have great phasers).
-
- it really depends on the situation. sometimes you want a fast break
- against a lone defender (the DD's ability to stay cloaked longer is nice)
- and other times you want to arrive in force and smash your way in.
- let's say you want an agri planet, and it's well defended. you can
- take the damage on the chin, or you can avoid the torps. plenty of
- times i will go in as DD or AS and wish i had chosen the other type
- when the situation develops differently from what i'd hoped for.
-
- i promise i will not say another word on the subject.
