  13. After years of playing this stupid game including the original hack, and
  14. never had won, I have finally ascended!  WHOOPEE!!!!!!!
  15.  
  16. This was a pretty good game, as I also won by playing a healer, which I
  17. don't think is that easy to do in the grand scheme of things.  The talley
  18. of stuff I had was as follows (as best I can remember from memory)
  19.  
  20. a blessed +4 long sword named Excalibar (enchanted in the usual way from
  21. normal sword, and then blessed a few times)
  22.  
  23. a blessed +3 gray dragon scale mail (wished for early on in the game from a
  24. water deamon that was nice to me.  I actually accidentally rustproofed this
  25. later on)
  26.  
  27. a rustproof +6 visored helmet (nice armor *found* at +5)
  28.  
  29. rust proof +0 iron shoes (-1 by games end)
  30.  
  31. +0 blue green shield (unimpressive but handy)
  32.  
  33. +0 pair of leather gloves (I had a +4 pair that I found, but one scroll of
  34. enchant armor too many, and they were gone)
  35.  
  36. blessed +0 elven cloak (nothing special, I did find an cursed -1 protection
  37. cloak late in the game that I uncursed)
  38.  
  39. Also included was a ring of conflict (found early and worn almost always),
  40. regeneration (used for the mad sprint up), +3 protection (worn until I
  41. found the Amulet), levitation (wished for), and some other non-important to
  42. the game rings.
  43.  
  44. No poly-piling was done here, and I didn't have a polymorph wand anyway. 
  45. No wizard abuse was done in winning, and I actually finished with one wish
  46. left on a wand of wishing.

  48. The Wizard was a major PAIN-IN-THE-ROYAL-********-BUTT!!!!!!  More so than
  49. anyone has ever told me.  But it was fun to finally win one.  Now I can
  50. start a new character with a new class.  I wish that Nethack++ was
  51. available but no such luck.  And for some reason, NH++ won't play on
  52. SoftPC's emulator on the Mac.  I guess it just doesn't like EGA
  53. graphics.
