  12. Any GO World subscribers probably already know that GO World is trouble,
  13. and is in danger of being cancelled.  If you want GO World to continue
  14. publication, I strongly suggest that you subscribe or extend your
  15. subscription at the new rate, even if you still have issues left on
  16. your sub.  Right now the response has been largely positive, and I am
  17. cautiously optimistic.

  19. At the previous subscription rate, for every customers spent on GO World,
  20. we lost about fifty cents.  This might be okay if it were to grow to the
  21. point where costs dropped dramatically, but this has not happened.  From
  22. the point of Ishi Press as a business, why should we lose money and waste
  23. John Power's work as a translator, when instead he could work on books
  24. which would be very profitable?

  26. This is not a sales pitch.  I feel that GO World is an important resource
  27. for the Western GO community, and I would be unhappy if it were to cease.
  28. But business is business, and a business will not continue to do things
  29. that lose money.  If you want to see GO World continue publishing, use
  30. the power of your patronage, and subscribe.
