  16. NovaNet Go Project By Dietrich Schuschel

  18. NovaNet(formerly Plato) is a Computer-Aided Learning
  19. system that is installed in schools nationwide.  The
  20. system features over 20,000 hours of instruction stored
  21. on a mainframe and delivered over phone lines and
  22. Internet to a special terminal program that runs on a
  23. variety of hardware.  The terminal program features
  24. include color graphics, mouse and sound support.  The
  25. system is very easy to use as it was targeted for use by
  26. grade school kids.  High schools, colleges, and industry
  27. use this system for a total of over 3000 terminals.

  29. A Go program was being written for this system.  It
  30. incorporates the IGO program and tutorial.  The
  31. main program will allow interterminal play with
  32. observers.  Time, rank, rating, komi and handicap are
  33. handled.  The presentation will be near Many Faces of Go
  34. (tm) quality with a messaging and commenting system
  35. similar to the Internet Go Server(IGS).  The intent is to
  36. create an electronic Go club where players can meet, play
  37. and discuss Go.  I invite you to join our club!
