- I have noticed a lot of questions regarding california aces. Having
- played a few hours I will give a run down and my analysis. The game is
- played similar to blackjack except you are trying for 22. you cannot
- bust in this game so if two best hands are 19 and 23, 19 will win. you
- have three betting lines. The first is usually a set $5 bet (plus 50
- cents to the house, that's their profit) on the second line you may bet
- 10 to 25 dollars and the third 25 to fifty dollars ( these are
- approximations and vary depending where you are). Everyone must bet the
- first line, but the other two are optional, there are usually six people
- to a table and if you bet on the other two lines someone must take action
- against you. So in reality you may have a losing hand on the first line
- but still win on the second and third. (please note that above when I
- say a 19 would beat a 23 I mean to say a 21 would win ). There are also
- jokers in the deck that count as 1 or 11 ( same with aces). So if you
- were dealt two aces you have 22 and would win or at least tie all your
- bets.
- ANALYSIS: After a couple of hours playing this game and coming out a
- couple of hundred ahead I truly feel that this game can be cornered. A
- couple of days later I brought a friend up to try a thing or two. Since
- you are playing against the other players and not the dealer, you can
- really read players reactions to their hands and guestimate what they
- have, this along with glances of other cards give you a good idea of
- where you stand. With two players sitting approximately three chairs
- apart on of you will usually be the last to play your cards and you can
- signal as to what you have (ie if you have 20 and your partner, the last
- person to be dealt has a 19 why wouldn't he want to hit, If you are both
- betting the same lines?) at the end of this session we divided the $$ up
- and both ended up a couple hundred up.
-
- I use this to be informative and give an explanation of my thoughts on
- the game. I have not been up to the reservation but a couple of times
- since then and have yet to lose money. Maybe I'm lucky, who knows, your
- comments would be appreciated. 8)
