- Well, I do have a question about the breed name and you sound like a good
- person to ask,so here goes. I have always been confused about what the
- breed name really is and what the correct plural is. I was always taught
- to use the German word Lipizzaner. I believe the singluar and plural for
- this word are the same in German.

- But, the US Lipizzan Registry uses the word Lipizzan as the name and you
- used Lipizzans as the plural. In English books/articles, I frequently see
- both Lipizzans and Lipizzaners used as the plural. In fact, I have seen
- both terms used in the same paragraph!

- 1. What are the historical reasons behind the USLR's choice to
- Anglicise the Lipizzaner breed name?
- 2. What is the correct or preferred plural of the word Lipizzan?
