- I'm the owner of Eve, the 9 year-old saddlebred mare with a bowed
- tendon referred to in the message from
- springer@khonshu.colorado.edu. Thank you for your helpful
- comments. We evidently have some additional complications of
- anular ligament thickening and a sesamoid "avulsion fracture,"
- which may be old or new the vets say, but the basic treatment so
- far (since the end of September) has been focused on the tendon,
- which actually looks pretty good right now. We're doing the usual
- routine and would like more input on the do's and don't's of leg
- wrapping. We're using a quilted underwrap with polo wrap over
- that. We know to avoid wrinkles and keep it firm but not tight.
- Any other suggestions? Our recent bad weather has prevented us
- from doing much hand walking, so she's mostly still stall-
- confined (fortunately, this horse has an outstanding temperament
- and is still cooperative and affectionate after all she's been
- through). We were told to remove her shoes for the winter, which
- we did. Any further comments on that?
