  32.    My friend's worries about her mare are based solely on the death of
  33.    one foal sired by her mare's sire.  The cause of that death was
  34.    never determined, to her knowledge.  Is there a test to see if a horse
  35.    carries CID?

  39. To the best of my knowledge, there is currently no test for
  40. CID-carriers, other than the trial-and-error of breeding repeatedly to
  41. a known CID carrier, and waiting for a foal to die---not recommended!

  44. to "FLAK about CID" (Furthering Lethal Arabian Knowledge about
  45. Combined Immuno-Deficiency); contact group co-ordinator Gwen
  46. Orlowske, R.R.1, Box 135, Worthing, SD 57077.  This is a group
  47. dedicated to publicizing the problem, furthering research, recording
  48. known CID carriers so that Arab breeders can make informed choices in
  49. their breeding programs, acting as a support group for those who have
  50. lost a CID foal, etc.  They publish a newsletter 6 times per year.
