- This time of year many magazines including horse-focused ones give special
- discounted rates for gift or personal subs after the first subscription at
- the regular price...which means for a mag like PRACTICAL HORSEMAN for example
- the first sub may be $25.00 but the additional ones are only $12 each.
- I have been giving 2 or 3 gifts of PH and EQUUS for a number of years now
- and find the economics of the reduced rates very palatable (more for less as
- they say...) Also, the magazines supply attractive notification cards that
- can be mailed with holiday greetings to the lucky recipients..
- While it may be too late for '92, I would certainly encourage you to consider
- magazines as gifts for the horsefolk on your '93 list...they may be a more
- economical gift than would be apparent from the subscription price information
- listed in a single issue for the first subscription. (P.S. The issues are
- really enjoyed from what I hear and each issue gives the recipient a gentle
- reminder to think kindly about the giver...who could ask for more?)
