- The Elvis stamps go on sale at all U.S. Post Offices (well, actually
- just the ones that care to sell them...) at noon on Jan. 8, 1993. The
- First-Day ceremonies will be an all-day (at least) affair in Memphis,
- TN on Jan. 8th. It is unusal for stamps to be sold everywhere on the
- first day. This and the fact that the USPS has prepared many times
- the normal amount of these stamps are a result of popular demand. I
- think I also read that the Elvis stamp will be re-released later in
- 1993 as part of a set of other musicians stamps.
