  12. I went to Thailand for a climbing trip recently.  The place was fantastic,
  13. there are nice beaches, inviting limestone, topless sun-bathers, delicious
  14. seafood ...etc.

  16. The climbing areas are in south Thailand, near to Phuket.  They are :
  17. 1)  Phra Naang Bay in Krabii state.  Access made by boat from Krabii town,
  18. or from Phuket via Phi Phi Island.  There are several locals who climbs, and
  19. will be more than willing to show you around.  The lifestyle is very peacefull
  20. and quiet there.  The people are very friendly.  However, the cost is probably
  21. slightly more expensive than on the mainland.  On the whole, the cost is still
  22. cheap.

  24. 2)  Phi Phi Island, south of Phra Naang.  Access from Krabii town or Phuket by
  25. boat.  The cliffs are by the sea too, but most of them are inaccessible at high 
  26. tide, boats are required instead.  The boats used locally is called a
  27. 'long-tail', and they can be hired easily at the beach.

  29. There is a guide book by Dominique Pontard (France) about the climbs that
  30. I have mentioned above.  It will be a very great help to have it.

  33. Because the climbing area is so close to the beach, we can enjoy a cooling
  34. swim any time after a climb.  Snorkelling and diving is also a popular sport
  35. here.

  37. Accomodation is in abundant, they are still building more bungalows when I was 
  38. there.  There are many chalets, and bungalows for rental.  The price is rather
  39. inexpensive, and dependent on proximity to beach, and its facility.

  41. Chinese, western and Thai food are available everywhere, at rather reasonable
  42. rates.
