- Having reached the age and stage of decreptitude where long hikes are no
- longer an option, I've taken to using a two wheel drive pickup and a light
- weight hard sided travel trailer to go bounding down abandoned logging roads
- and other remote spots. My consort and I have found a number of neat
- places for people who aren't up to more than a mile or two of hiking or
- aren't up to hiking at all.
-
- I guess I'd like some discussion of access for the physically impaired. I'm
- sort of tired of folks who let their dogs chase the wildlife, then get
- annoyed with us because we have used an existing road and an existing
- pull off spot to leave a trailer. The idea that the outdoors is only for
- the physically perfect bothers me. Please don't tell me to try conditioning -
- we both have joint problems that restrict our activities.
