  25. I highly recommend *against* any book by Kelsey.
  26. His books are full of misinformation, resulting
  27. in most cases from minimal experience in the areas
  28. he covers.  
  29.  
  30. I know little about his mountain books, but in the
  31. desert SW he is widely despised as a hike-bagger,
  32. who pumps people for information, does a hike one
  33. time, and then writes about it.
  34.  
  35. I've even spoken to rangers that hate this guy.

  37. If you are inexperienced at desert canyon hiking
  38. and you are relying on a Kelsey book, be prepared
  39. for trouble.
