  10. I was watching a show about a recording session for a Broadway cast album
  11. and I noticed many of the microphones had circular screens, about 10 cm
  12. in diameter, suspended in front of them, between the mic and the singer(s).
  13. The screens were some kind of fine mesh, dark in color.  What are they
  14. for?
