  13. I realised that when I hurredly drew up the circuits recently posted my
  14. memory did not work very well.  The supply volts for the Cohen amp I
  15. modified for CD use measures 427V and the supply for the Guls amp is 310V
  16. for the 12AX7 and 12AT7 versions and 350V for the 12AU7 version (with 1K5
  17. cathode resistors).  Worse still I had the output from the lower plate not
  18. the upper cathode (correct).  Below are the corrected versions:

  58. Sorry about the errors.  If anyone wants to make one of these there are
  59. other considerations like a floating heater supply so that the max heater
  60. to cathode voltage is not exceeded for either triode.  The cohen amp uses
  61. cascaded RC filters for the supply whereas the Guls amp has an IC regulator
  62. (but valve rectification) followed by RCs.  The Guls amp also has a slow
  63. heater turn on over 30secs after which the high voltage comes on and after
  64. the amp has settled an output relay is closed (at 1 min)
