- I agree with most persons that Stereo Review is not an altogether good
- source of information, but it does help ground one to reality (its OK to
- not be able to afford 20k for a system).

- Recently I was skipping across an old evaluation of the Pioneer Elite
- CD player (at least several months old), and in the end, the reviewer
- failed to find any sound difference justifying its higher price. It
- sounded "at least as good as" the other <lower priced> players reviewed.
- I see this to indicate one of two things:
- 1) they're absolutely right
- 2) their emphasis on sound quality is slighted by the more serious audiophile
- magazines.
