  11. I agree with most persons that Stereo Review is not an altogether good
  12. source of information, but it does help ground one to reality (its OK to 
  13. not be able to afford 20k for a system).

  15. Recently I was skipping across an old evaluation of the Pioneer Elite
  16. CD player (at least several months old), and in the end, the reviewer
  17. failed to find any sound difference justifying its higher price.  It 
  18. sounded "at least as good as" the other <lower priced> players reviewed.
  19. I see this to indicate one of two things:
  20. 1) they're absolutely right
  21. 2) their emphasis on sound quality is slighted by the more serious audiophile 
  22.    magazines.

  24. So there's a sort-of-negative review!
