- One poster suggested that a parametric equalizer should be used to
- solve this problem. I have gotten into this before and I will again!
- Equalization is useless for control of room modes.
-
- What you have is a room that is resonant at a frequency. If you have
- a speaker that is perfectly flay in frequency and phase response you
- will still have the peak. The use of an equalizer will reduce the
- output of the speaker at that frequency but it can't eliminate the
- basic cause ofthe problem..........
-
- The devices that are used to treat problems at tha frequency you have
- are beyond the simple room tune and other simple surfect treatments.
-
- If you have a good book on acoustics and the solutions, and if you have the
- means to build simple construction projects you may be able to take
- care of the problem with a bass trap. The problem is that the trap
- may interfere with the architectural aspects of your room.
-
- If you don't have a good book on acoustics I suggest F. Alton
- Everest's book "The Master Handbook of Acoustics", second edition. A
- basic text that can help you, I believe.
