  17. Hey, I've been in this boat!  It was not exactly clear from your description
  18. as to how you have your ULD hooked up, and this may be of no use.  However,
  19. after setting up my VA 1012 (Hey, we're not all rich) the unit hummed much
  20. more than I would have liked.

  22. The problem?  Bad ground, of course.

  24. The bad ground?  The crappy feed from my local cable company, feeding into
  25. my VCR, feeding into my preamp, feeding into my brand-new sub.

  27. The solution?  Unplug the cable when listening to music/tapes/Laserdiscs.
  28. Or build an isolation transformer.
