- Hi, Dennis:
-
- I have had several transactions with 6th Ave and other sleazy NY
- stores. My strategy is always :
- (1) pick one model from their ad which has price listed.
- (2) ask if the model is available, if not, leave!
- (2) if yes, stick to the model you want, ignore any recommendation the
- salesperson has to make.
-
- Usually, the sales person will recommend other brand of which
- performance is probably better, but the price presents no saving. Most
- customers have the wrong impression from the ads that all products are cheap
- in 6th Ave.
-
- The 6th Ave in Paramus seems to give me less trouble, they didn't
- give me any hassle when I bought my Boston Acoutics Speakers. The other
- store in NJ has some "good" salesman that is hard to resist. Last time I
- just plainly told them that "I am a cheap customer and just want some
- cheap stuff, I don't care too much about sound quality."
- I have never had any transaction in their NY store since there has
- never been anything on stock when I went.
-
- I like these sleazy NY stores, though. It makes shopping adventurous
- and, Hey ! This is New York, anything can happen!

- PS. if you are looking for Adcom products, 6th Ave is no longer the
- cheapest place to get from. You can get comparable price from mail order
- place like "City Shoppers", a shopper service affiliated with Citibank
- Visa.
