- WHy do you need one? The only thing that's likley to need one is a
- turntable, and the cheaper ones (e.g. Pioneer) always used to supply
- 50 & 60 Hz pulley wheels as I recall.
-
- I brought the following equipment from England (50Hz 240v) to Canada
- (60Hz 115v):
-
- Linn LP12 turntable (voltage adjusted by retailer)
- Linn LK1 preamp and LK2 power amp. Power supplies replaced by
- Canadian distributor
- Teac V95-RX cassette deck - run successfully off transformer
- Pioneer tuner - ditto
- Meridian Pro-MCD CD player. Power supply tapping changed by
- manufacturer. (Incidentally, for reasons too complex to go
- into here, I ran the an US-export version of the original
- Meridian MCD player in the UK off a 240-120 transformer).
-
- I have never had any trouble with any of the above related to mains
- frequency.
