  26. Actually, it strikes me that for "Star Trek: The Next Generation" it's
  27. the libertarians who have the most complaints about the show, where the
  28. 24th Century seems to be a victory for the best of Euro-Canadian civil
  29. responsibility (i.e., Napoleon, Disraeli, Bismarck) and the best of US
  30. individual rights and freedom of expression seemed to have spliced 
  31. together ... (hey, they will have had 300 years to figure that out (-;)
  32.  
  33. Then again, the crowd that argues about what ships that Starfleet has
  34. had over the course of 200 years and the construction of the wheel of
  35. the Deep Space Nine space station (based purely on a few commercials)
  36. brings into question about some people's grip on reality and ... (-;
