  12. In posting #25261 Karl Rim states as an established fact that
  13. Susan was not really the Doctor's granddaughter but just another
  14. companion.  This has been a matter for argument and speculation
  15. among Who fans forever, but my own impression is that nothing in
  16. any actual aired Who episode has explicitly contradicted Susan
  17. being related to the Doctor.  Supposedly, the original writer
  18. of the first episode did originally intend for her to be only
  19. a companion, but the producers decided at the last minute to
  20. make her a granddaughter.

  22. There are arguments either way, but personally I choose to
  23. take the Doctor and Susan at their word and assume they are
  24. grandfather and granddaughter.  It's actually more fun
  25. that way, speculating on who Mrs. Doctor was...
