  24.     Well, your watch is a Hamilton, just as it says.  Unfortunately,
  25.     it is not an American made Hamilton, since it says Swiss.  However,
  26.     Haminton made some of the finest watches ever produced, and even
  27.     the swiss ones were pretty nice.

  29.     Hamilton began making watches back in the late 1800's (1892 to be
  30.     exact), and while many other companies were in existance at this
  31.     time, it is interesting to note that Hamilton is the only one
  32.     that is still in business.  They are still located in Lancaster
  33.     PA, and still produce watches, many of them being reproductions
  34.     of watches made in their glory days.  Hamilton made some of the
  35.     best Railroad Pocket watches available in their day, and these
  36.     watches were generally favorites with Railroad employees because
  37.     of their quality. I wear a Hamilton pocket watch every day.

  39.     As for your watch, the fact that it is in a 14k case means that
  40.     someone paid a fair amount for the watch when it was sold in the
  41.     late 1950's or early 1960's.  Hamilton's swiss made automatic
  42.     movements are not as special as the American made ones, but they
  43.     are still favorites of many collectors, and when properly 
  44.     maintained, can run just as reliabily as any quartz watch.  I'd
  45.     say you have a fine watch.
