  21. 1) How do I get an alias?

  24. 2) I don't need an alias. I just replied to someones message.
  25.    You received an alias so that the other person can reply to you
  26.    and maintain *their* anonyminity.  Besides, it's free :-)

  28. 3) How come my message got cut off?
  29.    The software strips anything beyond a line that starts with "--"
  30.    because it looks like a signature.  Enough sites/users don't
  31.    know that it's suppose to be "-- " (space), sigh.

  33. 4) Can you delete/change my address?
  34.    I could, but since nobody else can use it, I'd rather not.
  35.    If you really MUST have the alias deleted, I can just forward the
  36.    mail to /dev/null here.  Send mail to pnwp-admin@onion.rain.com

  38. 5) Why do I have 'n' aliases?
  39.    A couple of reasons are that you may have posted from different machines
  40.    in or out of your domain, or the more common, your mail took a different
  41.    path to get here, due to re-routing by hosts in between us.

  43. 6) My pings come back, but I haven't seen my message...
  44.     News takes a much more roundabout path than mail, and hence, takes
  45.     significantly longer to get to some sites. News can take 2 weeks
  46.     to reach the most outlying leaf nodes.

  48. 7) Can I post something without the 30 line limit cutting me?
  49.     There is not 30 line limit.  I might impose one someday, but I see
  50.     no reason at this time to do that.  If you want to get technical,
  51.     there is a 9999 line limit.

  53. 8) How do I use this service?
  54.     Read the signature of any anonymous message, or see the companion
  55.     posting on how to use the pnwp AFS.  You can also send mail to
  56.     pnwp-help@onion.rain.com to receive an alias, plus these instructions.

  58. 9) How do I follow up anonymously?
  59.     Save the article to a file. Invoke your mailer, address the followup
  60.     to pnwp-personals@onion.rain.com, and read in the file you saved.
  61.     Edit to your heart's content.  Send it.

  64.     pnwp-*@onion.rain.com should work.
  65.     uunet!onion.rain.com!pnwp-* is an alternate.

  68.     No.  There are provisions only to post to pnw.personals, and send email.

  71.     The net and I would rather you didn't. Again, if you sit back and
  72.     read, you'll see that it does in fact work rather well.

  74. 13) How can I cancel an article I just posted
  75.     You can't.  Within minutes of receipt of your article by onion,
  76.     the article has already been posted to many machines around the
  77.     Pacific NorthWest.  Your best bet is to think before you post.

  79. 14) I sent mail to pnwp-personals (or pnwp-ping or pnwp-###) but didn't see
  80.     my article.  What's wrong?

  82.     I have absolutely no idea.  You MUST send me any/all error messages
  83.     you got as well as letting me know exactly how you submitted the
  84.     article and what the Subject: of your article is.  If I don't get at
  85.     least this much information, your request for help will be silently
  86.     ignored (I don't have time to ask people for it).

  88.     You should also ask your local news administrator if you're having any
  89.     problems with news locally.  Other sites may have received your article
  90.     even if you didn't.

  97.     To get a nickname, send mail to "pnwp-nickname@onion.rain.com".

  99.     Nicknames may contain the characters:  a-zA-Z!@#$%^&*-_+=,./?;:, spaces
