- I agree, the direct debit is very good - and they give a 5% discount to
- bills paid by direct debit. Clear have been absolutely excellent
- whenever I've dealt with them .. one recent case was when I lost PIN
- numbers for the Clear and Telecom calling cards. I rang Telecom and
- they transferred me all over the place and eventually told me that I
- would have to write a letter in to get a new PIN number. With Clear I
- rang up, quoted my card number and then they asked for the "secret
- keyword" (eg. mother's maiden name) that you provide when you apply for
- the card and then gave me the PIN number and offered to change it on the
- spot if I wished.

- One thing that many people don't realise is that by subscribing to
- Clear you don't lose anything - you can still use Telecom to make
- toll calls, Telecom don't penalise you in any way.

- Re Telecom / direct debit
- ASB Bank's (who have recently opened branches in Wellington) Fastphone
- service lets you pay Telecom bills using a dtmf phone - I find it much
- quicker than writing out a cheque and posting it.
