  18. The Dept. of Computer Science maintains a public access archive
  19. for software and computer related documents.

  21. It can be accessed in one of the following ways:

  23.      1) Anonymous FTP

  25.     ACCESS:       all Sites with internet Access
  26.     INSTRUCTIONS: ftp ftp.comp.vuw.ac.nz
  27.     NOTE:         please don't transfer files during working hours

  32.     INSTRUCTIONS: send a message to "ftpmail@comp.vuw.ac.nz" with a

  37.     ACCESS:       only possible for direct UUCP neighbours of "vuwcomp"

  143. To search for a particular object in the archive use the "archie"
  144. service.  If you have internet access you can use a local "archie"
  145. client if you have one available.  Remember to select the archie
  146. server at archie.vuw.ac.nz.  If you don't have a local client you can
  147. telnet to archie.vuw.ac.nz and log in as user "archie".  Having done
  148. that type "help" for further information.

  150. If you don't have direct internet access you can send mail to
  151. "archie@archie.vuw.ac.nz" to query the server.  A subject or body of
  152. "help" will give details on how to use this interface.
