- Another justification for the self-service ban -- I have no idea if
- this is fact or not, just another possible reason -- is security. Not
- of the customers, but of the attendants. Allegedly the lone cashier in
- the booth gets robbed more often?

- I don't really give a damn. The prices being low in NJ -- as another
- poster pointed out -- have to do with taxes and little else. I will
- not wait for the clods, and I usually get out and pump my own damn gas
- anyway. Ninety percent of the attendants don't care -- it saves them
- work. The other ten percent, if they tell me to wait for them, and
- they're taking forever, I leave and find another station.

- Pumping your own also avoids the problem that occurs when the pump
- stops at $9.21, and the attendant wants to push it up to an even $10
- and pumps $.50 or so worth of gas all over the side of your car.
