  18. .tar.Z files are files that have first been tarred, this a a sort of archiving
  19. without compression, and then compressed with the Unix compress program.

  23. I don't know if tar and compress exist on the Vax/VMS. They would not be
  24. standard packages, certainly. Ask your system administrator if he happens to
  25. have installed them.
