- .tar.Z files are files that have first been tarred, this a a sort of archiving
- without compression, and then compressed with the Unix compress program.

- I don't know if tar and compress exist on the Vax/VMS. They would not be
- standard packages, certainly. Ask your system administrator if he happens to
- have installed them.
