- Being as you have no way of knowing *why* that particular police car
- is exceeding the speed limit you really wouldn't have much to say for
- yourself and I doubt you'd have the time or wherewithal (especially
- the wherewithal) to investigate tho perhaps if you made some noise.
- You could still be wrong of course (that is, the car may well have
- been on an emergency call.)
-
- Worse, I believe that following an emergency vehicle as you describe
- is an even more serious offense than mere speeding and you may well
- open yourself to that charge.
-
- That said, I once did beat a ticket on something like this. The big
- difference was that the cop *told* me to follow him (to a court in
- another town on behalf of a friend) and took off at a high speed.
- Another police car pulled me over and gave me a ticket.
-
- On the other hand, the whole thing was an entrapment and it was so
- obvious the judge kinda dropped the whole thing in dismay when I made
- it clear that this wasn't going to stop here if he didn't. I probably
- should have followed up on it, but it was a small town and these
- things aren't easy to gather evidence on, "obvious to any idiot (even
- the judge)" is not usually enough to slam a dept with a corruption
- charge.
