  13.   My wife and I are very interested in obtaining a small amount of an oil 
  14. called Canadian (aka "Friar's") Balsam oil, for the purposes of re-oiling
  15. an emerald (apparently this is one of the few suitable oils). Our jeweler
  16. is having a lot of trouble finding a source (we understand it is also used
  17. as a microscopic slide fixative and for some other purposes). We are
  18. looking for the *pure* oil, as opposed to some scented variety used in 
  19. the perfume business (the natural scent of Balsam would be OK).
  20.  
  21.   We need only about enough oil to cover the ring ("a quarter of a film
  22. canister", as our jeweler describes it).
