- Is it true that itemizing deductions is always better (meaning less taxes
- to pay) than just taking the fixed deductions (say from 1040EZ) ?

- I am married (wife has no income), no mortgage payments, no loan payments,
- no interest payments (in short, I don't owe anything), don't have IRA,
- don't have 401k (I'm definitely getting 401k jan 1).

- I know I read somewhere (probably in Wealth without Risk) that says you
- always pay less tax if you itemize, but no matter how I compute it,
- the fixed deduction is always higher than what I can itemize. Am I
- missing something ?
