- I kinda' figured what you said, that "they did nothing overtly illegal and
- he has nothing to gain by staying or fighting". I even told David that it probably
- would be in his best interests NOT to try and renew his lease there, given that
- management clearly is trying everything within their power to get him to leave.
- Just for some more enlightenment:
-
- His ex not only cleaned out their bank account, but cleaned out the apartment
- as well, leaving only his TV, VCR and clothes, although she DID take everything
- else, including bath towels and even some of his most favorite clothes. She
- and some of the apartment complex personnel also tracked mud throughout the apt.
- in getting everything out, and I told David that he should probably go out and
- rent a carpet cleaner and clean the carpet himself, because management would surely
- NOT believe anything he said and would withhold a portion of his deposit for
- cleaning the carpeting, with said portion probably being at least double what he
- could pay to clean it himself.
-
- Yesterday, his ex called from Seattle (a 3 hours drive from Portland) and asked him
- for money for the month of January for their daughter. This from a woman who has
- not worked for the past year and whose mother came down from Seattle to take her
- daughter and granddaughter back to Seattle. David stated that he believes his ex
- when she states that she will really only use the money for their daughter, Ashley,
- but I told David to wake up and quit looking through love-sick eyes. I also told
- him to get ahold of some legal advice on all of this. His ex, in asking for the
- money, said he could visit Ashley anytime he wanted. I told him that once she
- gets the money, there is nothing to say that his ex or his ex's mom couldn't get
- a court order forbidding him to see either his ex or his daughter. When David told
- his ex that he had NO money and couldn't send anything for January, she got pretty
- upset and said, "Why don't I bring Ashley down there and let YOU take care of her?"
- David said "Fine, I'd love it!" She hung up on him.

- p.s. I used to subscribe to alt.child-support, but some of the stories were
- getting pretty nasty, so I unsubscribed. I might again, just to post this
- problem.
