  18. And therin lies the crux of this whole discussion.  It is hard for you
  19. to "let continue a practice".  It is not your place to let or not let
  20. the practice continue.  Parents make choices for their kids at an age
  21. where the kids are incapable of making the decisions for themselves. 
  22. That's what parents are for.  For better or worse THEY make the
  23. decisions based on their best information and knowledge, not you. 
  24. Nothing says you can't try and inform them of facts you feel have been
  25. overlooked by the medical establishement UNTIL said informing becomes
  26. intrusive.

  28. I was circumsized.  Doesn't bother me a bit.  My father wasn't.  Didn't
  29. bother him a bit either.  Not even in the locker room at the country
  30. club.  Am I glad it was done to me? No opinion either way.  Am I glad it
  31. was done when I was too young to give a damn one way or another? You bet
  32. your tintype I am.  I can see an imaginary scene where some misplaced
  33. law forces parents to wait until a child hits the age of, say, 13 to
  34. decide if he wants 'the clip job' or not.  The kids answer would likely
  35. be:

  37. "You wanna do WHAT? To my WHAT?!?!?!?!?!? No friggin' way!"

  39. Which would make all the anti-circumcision people exceedingly happy but
  40. would not necessarily be The Right Thing [tm].
