- The daycare center that my daughter (almost 5) attends has two
- male teachers -- both named Bill! They are each head teachers,
- one for 3 year olds and one for 4year olds. They are great and
- liked by all the kids.
-
- The after-school care that my son (6 years) attends currently has
- two male teachers, although they've had more in the past. They
- take a herd of thundering kids and wear them out on the playground!
- I really appreciate this, especially in the winter when I can't
- pick him up until after dark. I know he's gotten some play time
- under his belt. The after school care is on-site at the elementary
- school and one of the teachers also organizes and runs the noon
- football "league" for the older grades.
-
- Note that in California, these folks are *teachers* not workers or
- providers. They've each gone to college to study early childhood
- education, some have degrees in it.
