  13. Preventative antibiotics never really worked with my daughter.  
  14. We tried several (Gantrisin, Septra and another that escapes me)
  15. She continued to get ear infections not matter what we tried.
  16. I was told that tubes were a last resort. My doctors were 
  17. particularly against this sort of intervention,  they kept
  18. telling me she'd outgrow it.  But after the 20th ear infection
  19. and allergies to the two strongest antibiotics (Augmentin and Suprax)
  20. even Ceclor didn't work.  My husband and I made the decision to 
  21. pursue tubes.  It's been two weeks now, I now this sounds silly,
  22. but she has been a different child.  She's happy all the time, her
  23. vocabulary has grown by leaps and bounds, she repaets everything she
  24. hears. We are keeping our fingers crossed. By the way we were also
  25. told by the ear, nose and throat doctor that tubes were NOT a cure
  26. all, ear infections could still accur, but not as often and we would
  27. be able to catch tem earlier because the fluid would drain. (Cameron
  28. was one of those pesky kids that never had any clear symptoms when she
  29. had an infection. No fevr, no discernable pain, slept through the night,
  30. she would just get kinda clingy and whiney)

  32. My advise. . .give preventative maintenance a try, but uf those infections
  33. get out of hand (it took us 20 over a 15 month period o decide enough was
  34. enough) don't hesitate to get a second opinion.
