- Please post (or post a summary)! Alison is about to end this dose of
- antibiotics for the latest ear infection (by their count, #4 even though #3
- lasted about 1 month with 3 different types of antibiotics taken) and will
- immediately start 1 month of a low grade antibiotic (Batrim (sp?)). The
- one she is one now causes her to have diarrhea (and then diaper rash if we
- aren't careful), but the Batrim doesn't (she was on it not too long ago and
- did fine).
-
- Also, I would like people's opinions on tubes. In particular, Alison's
- doctor said that tubes don't prevent ear infections; they just help drain
- the fluid in the ears and relieve the pressure/pain. Kids still get ear
- infections. So, if one is worried about language delay (which doesn't seem
- to be a problem with Alison at this point!), then tubes are the solution.
- Otherwise, just treat the infections (either with spot antibiotics or
- continual antibiotics). Anyone else told this?
