  18.    My husband and I talked it over with the doctor first before making a 
  19.    decision.  My ob and the pediatrician both agreed unless it was for
  20.    religious reasons there was no reason to have it done.  If you and
  21.    your husband cannot agree, maybe talking to the doctors involved can
  22.    give you insight on the pros and cons and you can make a decision based
  23.    on the information you receive.  At one time it was the IN thing to
  24.    have your child circumcised, but this is no longer the case.  Sometimes
  25.    it helps bringing in a third party.

  29. Why is it that we parents think that we can make decisions about
  30. another person's body (ear piercings, circumcision, etc.) just because
  31. they happen to be our children??

  33. I say leave it to the child. There's no medical reason to do it. If he
  34. really wants to have it done when he's older, it can be done and it
  35. will be his choice.

  37. For the record: I'm circumcized and my son is not.

  39. P.S. I use the word "my" as an indicator of relatedness, not posession.
