  20. Ah, a few disclaimers are in order:  I have not met Mr. Munsch,
  21. nor have I read this particular story of his.

  23. However, he is a professional storyteller (that is, he makes his
  24. living by telling stories, not by writing books), and if he is anything
  25. like those pros I have met, much of what appears in his stories
  26. has, in fact, happened to him or those close to him.

  29. Of course, the only explanation for the success of those who
  30. produce fiction (as opposed to satire) is that their markets do,
  31. in fact, like to be manipulated emotionally.
