  11. I was done at the San Francisco Post office today, going through the
  12. letters to Santa that end up in the dead letter office. They have a
  13. Santa's Little Helper program, where one can go in and select a few
  14. letters and try to fulfil the wishes of the kids who write to Santa.
  15. Some of the letters were really heartbreakers, like the one by a 
  16. little girl asking Santa for her lost Shih-Tzu dog back. Another touching
  17. one asked for nothing except that Santa wake her up when he came so she
  18. could talk to him. Of course, there were those who had make four page long
  19. lists of what they wanted, and typewritten too!!! ( The Super NES system
  20. seemed to be the most requested gift... Santa better have some shares
  21. in Nintendo... ) Another thing I noticed as I leafed through the letters
  22. were the way the kids had addressed them:- Mr and Mrs Santa Claus,
  23. North Pole, 00000. or simply Santa Claus.

  25. I did choose one letter sent by a woman who listed the names of
  26. several children, their ages and their sizes. So now I have two gifts
  27. waiting to be delivered... =)

  29. Anyway, Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all on misc.kids. If you're
  30. in the Bay Area, you might want to try playing Santa next year. Reindeer
  31. not required. =)
