- I assume you are talking about Family Day Care here (provider in her
- own home, max of about 6 children). For my family daycare provider,
- here is what I do.
- - Any holidays that I have off with pay, she gets off with pay. (this
- therefore includes Christmas Day and New Year's Day.)
- - Any vacation days I take off, she gets paid.
- - Any days SHE takes off, when I would plan to be working, she does
- not get paid.
-
- Since I took all summer off for maternity leave :-), and my kids have
- been sick a lot this fall :-(, I have NO vacation time left. THerefore,
- I am not taking any time off this season. My provider wanted Christmas
- Eve and New Year's Eve off, so she is not being paid for those two days.
- (My husband is taking off with the kids, although if the daycare were
- open he would be working. I'm at work on Christmas Eve, the only one
- in the building :-( ).
