  24.   I have a 25-month-old son who still loves his bottle so I am in a similar
  25. position.  All I can suggest is that you either 1) go 'cold turkey' and
  26. put up with all the crying and fussing for a few days (or weeks!) or 2)
  27. make efforts to cut down on use of the bottle and count your victories until
  28. you can finally eliminate all use of the bottle.
  29.   My son also goes to daycare without a bottle.  So I know he can go without
  30. a bottle for 8 hours at a time - now, to stretch that 8 into 24!
  31.   One suggestion:  substitute water for milk in the bottle, if you haven't
  32. made that switch already.  My son hates drinking a bottle of water and will
  33. give up the bottle rather than drink water that way.  If he wants milk, I can
  34. get it for him in a cup.
  35.   Can't think of any suggestion for the pacifier, except to say that my
  36. daughter gave up the pacifier and went immediately to sucking on her thumb
  37. instead.  At the age of 3.5 yrs, she can talk about how to stop sucking her
  38. thumb, so we discuss it and she has made some progress.
