- I'm a little nervous about posting to the net, seeing
- the wars and flames that get started over everything.
- I hope I've made this as non-inflammatory as possible:
-
- As a single parent who reads this news group, I'm sad at
- how bogged down some parents get in semantics and trying
- to dictate their views to other parents. I can't relate to many
- of the debates and flame wars that get going because as a
- single parent, you just get to do it by yourself (no, I'm
- not looking for any sympathy (-: ).
-
- There are so many REAL parenting issues. Why do we spend
- time debating over the semantics of saying "We're pregnant"
- (just once I would have loved to have the opportunity
- to say that) or flaming people asking for advice or debating
- over who gets to change the diaper? Some days I wish misc.kids
- looked more like a safe place to get information
- instead of a place where parents flame at will! (I have
- gotten some valuable information, although it's taken a while
- to dig through some of the other stuff.)
-
- I need information on dealing with a precocious 4-1/2 year
- old daughter and would like to share stories with someone.
- I would also like to get in touch with any other single
- parents out there who would like to swap more relevant stories
- than what often gets posted in misc.kids. If you are interested
- in swapping information and stories, please email me at the
- address below.
-
- ..and my apologies in advance if there is already a newsgroup
- for single parents that I haven't yet found...
