- Just passing on my amusing (to me anyway) anecdote:
- We have a 9mo. old girl, Liana (that's "lee-ah-nah", not "lee-Ann-a").
- To keep her & the tree safe, we put the tree inside of a playpen/gate
- thing. But it is a fat tree, so she can still touch the lower branches
- and we let her play with a couple cloth ornaments.
- Seems to be a nice arrangement all in all.
- Anyway, one night, she was standing at the gate edge, reaching up towards
- the tree. She had spotted a little gingerbread cinnamon ornament and
- concentrated on getting it. It was too high for her, though, so she
- was getting mad. She's only had one gingerbread cookie in her life,
- about a month ago, but she sure remembered what one was, apparently, because
- when I found out what she was reaching for and borught it down to show her,
- she tried to immediately stuff it in her mouth to eat it. ( I know, babies
- like to put everything in their mouths, but this was definitely for eating
- purposes.)
-
- She also loves for us to take her over to other Christmas things we have
- sitting out (wreaths, bells, elves, etc.) and let her pick them up and
- experience them. It's lots of fun!
-
- Merry Christmas!
