  11. Some stock symbols have "cute" or "fun" references to the company.

  13. You know, where the company had a lot of fun picking the symbol?

  15. For example:

  17. BUD - Anheuser Busch   (Budweiser)
  18. BEN - Franklin Resources
  19. BID - Sothebys (large international auctioneers)
  20. FLY - Airlease
  21. LUV - Southwest Airlines ("Love" was in their motto)
  22.  
  23. There are quite a few such symbols which are Not part of a company's
  24. name or initials.   So I didn't count cute parts of names such as
  25. ONE (BancOne Corp), RVEE (Holiday RV),  IV (Mark IV Indstries),
  26. OAT (Quaker Oats)  or CAKE (Cheesecake).
