  12.    Having watched the Intel - AMD court battles and the radical
  13. price swings I concluded about a year ago to own each.  So far
  14. the idea that both benefit from the mutual competition seems to
  15. be true.  They push each other to create value.  Until that seems
  16. to wane or there are better places to play the cpu market I'll
  17. probably stay put.  For AMD the things I like to see were: the 
  18. stock repurchase (of up to 5 million shares) and the addition
  19. of new products (the printer and ethernet chips).  Of the
  20. two I'm expecting AMD to short term (1 to 2 years) outperform
  21. Intel.  It is hard to expect Intel to double again so soon while
  22. AMD is still about 1/5 as big.  The PEs are also more favorable
  23. to AMD(and yes for good reasons).  For Intel the things I like 
  24. to see: investment in research and fab plants.  So anyway for now 
  25. my die are cast 12to1 in AMDs favor.  We'll see how the chips 
  26. stack up in a while.  Enjoy the ride (as they say at the amusement
  27. park when you get on the rollercoaster :)

  30. ObStupido - Don't shave an eighth on an order.  My call on Sequent's
  31.             bottom missed by that much.  Then I used the cash for
  32.             some AMD and drips.  Well, until I cash in the gains/
  33.             losses are all paper, but heck a market order would have
  34.             worked jus fine.  A mistake not repeated since.
